SUSAN:What a nuisance!

PETER:Last summer it was very dry, too. Don't you remember? I had to water it every day.

SUSAN:Well, I'll have tea by myself.

SUSAN:That was quick! Have you finished already?

must, have to和needn’t

must, have to和needn’t三个词都表示必要性。

I had to stop smoking because it was forbidden in my company.

needn’t还可以理解为have to的否定的回答。needn’t(don’t need to)和don’t have to都表示不必要;而mustn’t却表示绝对禁止,在说话人看来根本没有选择余地。

--It means…

--instead = instead ofwatering the garden

--Won’t you come with me?

--Yes, I will.

--Don’t you trust me?

--No, I don’t ?

--Won’t you go to cinema with us?

--Yes, I’ll go with you.

--No, I’ll do my homework.

--Didn’t you tell me that yesterday?

--Yes, I did.

--No, I told you that this morning.

--immediately adv.

1. adv. 立即地

--He came home immediately after work.

--I wrote to her immediately.

2) adv.

--He lives immediately next to us.

--immediateadj.

--an immediate answer 立即答复

--adj.

--an immediate cause 直接原因

--adj. 最接近的,近邻的--He lives immediately next to us. Lesson126Have to and do not need to不得不和不必要
